MID FACE LIFT

WHAT IS A MID-FACE LIFT?

Mid-face lift surgery, which is especially preferred by women, makes the skin look tight and young.  With the intervention, the voluminous structure lost on the face is regained and the sagging cheeks and under-eye bags gain a tight appearance. The cheekbone, which causes a weak appearance, is brought to a fuller structure by mid-face lift surgery. In this way, the face has a young and dynamic structure. Fine lines on the edge of the nose are also permanently removed.

WHAT ARE THE TECHNIQUES USED IN THE MID-FACE LIFT PROCESS?

The surgery is performed by applying an incision. Approximately 1 cm to 2 cm thick incision is made and the tissue area where the operation will be performed is reached with the endoscope. In this application, very long incisions are not required, extremely thin cannulas are used during the operation. The image of the tissue is projected onto the device monitor with the help of the endoscope, and the physician monitors these images and performs mid-face lift surgery.

IN WHICH SITUATIONS CAN YOU HAVE A MID-FACE LIFT?

  • The forehead area can be stretched and thus a tauter skin appearance can be obtained.
  • Wrinkles due to facial expressions between the two eyebrows can be eliminated. Botox effect can be achieved between two eyebrows and this effect is not temporary like Botox, but permanent.
  • The mesh on the cheeks can be pulled up and thus the drooping cheek appearance can be eliminated.
  • A fuller appearance can be obtained on the cheekbone.
  • The tissue at the edge of the eye can be slightly raised. The appearance around the eyes, called "almond eye", can be achieved.
  • The appearance of saggy skin in the neck area can be eliminated by performing an endoscopic facelift with classical facelift surgery.
  • The under-chin tissue can be tightened.
  • The skin at the corner of the mouth can be pulled upwards.

POST-PROCEDURE RECOVERY PROCESS

It is normal for mild edema to occur on the skin after the surgery and also to have slight bruises. In some patients, the edema may be accompanied by mild swelling. Depending on the patient's skin condition, edema, swelling and very mild bruises disappear up to 2 weeks. In rare cases, this period may take up to 3 weeks. It takes a maximum of 1 month for the effects of surgical intervention to disappear completely. The patient can return to his/her work and social life after 10 days.

In all surgical operations, a very slight scar remains on the skin if an incision is made. In this surgery, the incisions are applied to the scalp with zig-zag stitches and the scars are less obvious. The scars that remain on the scalp and are very light are not very obvious from the outside.

Depending on the condition of the skin and the level of sagging, very little skin can be removed during mid-face lift aesthetics. However, the operation can be performed without removing the skin. The answer to this question varies depending on the skin condition of the patient and the level of sagging.

This procedure is performed under general anesthesia and the patient does not feel any pain or pain during the procedure. The duration of the operation varies from 2.5 hours to 4 hours. If mid-facelift surgery is performed together with open facelift surgery, then the duration of the surgical intervention will also be extended.
